The items listed below WILL NOT BE COLLECTED during Heavy Garbage Collection. Items not accepted during this collection will be left uncollected for the resident to remove from the curb.
Electronics including computers, monitors, televisions, personal/portable audio & video play back and recording systems, vehicle audio/video systems, home theatre in a box (HTB) systems, home audio/video systems or non-cellular telephones:
Residents who have old electronics that they no longer want can drop them off free of charge to any local Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) Drop-off Centre. There are four local EPRA Drop-off Centres located in CBRM:
Household special waste items:
Residents who have household special waste items to dispose of can drop them off free of charge at CBRM's Household Special Waste Depot. CBRM's Household Special Waste Depot is located at 345 Gulf Crescent, Edwardsville.

Residents are encouraged to return the above items in their original containers with labels intact.
Residents are encouraged to contact the Waste Management Hotline at (902) 567-1337 for disposal options for propane tanks/cylinders.
Construction and demolition materials:
Residents who have construction and demolition materials to dispose of can bring them to the Waste Management Facility located on SPAR Road.
Residents who have fluorescent lights to dispose of can drop them off free of charge to CBRM's Household Special Waste Depot.
Asphalt roofing shingles:
Residents who have asphalt shingles to dispose of can bring these items free of charge to CBRM's Waste Management Facility located on Spar Road.
Residents who have insulation to dispose of can bring this item free of charge to CBRM's Waste Management Facility located on Spar Road.
Residents who have gyprock to dispose of can bring this item free of charge to CBRM's Waste Management Facility located on Spar Road.
Concrete, mortar and brick:
Residents who have concrete, mortar or brick to dispose of are encouraged to bring these materials to the Waste Management Facility located on SPAR Road.
Residents who have vehicle parts to dispose of are encouraged to contact the Waste Management Hotline at (902) 567-1337.
Residents who have vehicle tires to dispose of can return up to four used tires with a rim size of 24" or less at one time to any tire retailer in the province, at no cost. The tires must be off the rim and free of mud and debris. Tires that are part of the Used Tire Recycling Management Program include:

Leaf and yard waste:
Residents who have leaf and yard waste to dispose of are encouraged to place small amounts of this material inside their green carts for disposal. Large amounts of leaf and yard waste can be taken to CBRM's year round leaf and yard drop off site located at the Waste Management Facility on Spar Road.
Residents who have old or unwanted cell phones and accessories can recycle them free of charge through the Recycle My Cell program. Residents are encouraged to visit website at www.RecycleMyCell.ca to find the nearest location that will accept their mobile devices and accessories.
Residents who have unwanted or leftover paint or paint aerosols can return them free of charge to any Enviro-DepotTM in CBRM. The paint accepted in this program include:

Leftover paint can be returned to any ENVIRO-DEPOTTM free of charge. The depots located in CBRM include:
