In honour of Multiculturalism Day, CBU and The Centre for Sound Communities will host a songwriting workshop for youth aged 12-18.
June 27, 2017
Centre for Sound Communities, Cape Breton University, 1250 Grand Lake Road, Sydney
The themes of the workshops are immigration and encounter, which are part of a larger project called Songs and Stories of Immigration and Encounter.
Participants will work with East Coast musicians Stewart McNeil, Brian Cherwick and Robert Deveaux to study stories and create their own song about immigration. The young people involved will then perform their songs later in the evening during the Multiculturalism Day celebrations.
Youth can register by calling (902)563-1696 or visiting www.soundcommunities.org
