Hike The Lakes Golf Club & Ski Ben Eoin (Thu. 12 Oct, 2017 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

As part of Celtic Colours, the Bras d'Or Lake Biosphere Reserve Association (BLBRA) is sponsoring a short afternoon hike at The Lakes Golf Club and Ski Ben Eoin. The hike is just 2 Km but uphill for half that distance.

Besides beautiful autumn views of the Bras d'Or Lake, there will be several local scientists along the way to help explain how the Lake and hills were formed as well as answer questions about plants, trees and wildlife.

We hope to have a person representing the Mi'kmaq of this area who can answer questions on the history and culture of the Mi'kmaq. In the Club House, we'll have a local person very familiar with the Scottish families who settled this area. Folks may wish to seek him out as they enjoy some refreshment.

Restaurant, bar, snack bar and washroom facilities are available to the public. We ask those intending to hike the hill to please register at the Club House prior to starting their hike.  The trail will be well marked as there are several snowshoe trails at the top of the hill which we ask the general public not to use.

Date - Thursday, October 12 from 1- 4 pm.

For further information, please call Eileen Crosby at 902-574-5185.
