There are several disposal options available for used batteries in CBRM.
CBRM's Household Special Waste Depot accepts used household batteries from residents free of charge. The Residential Household Special Waste Depot is located in the Sydport Industrial Park:

Residents can also visit the Call2Recycle® website www.call2recycle.ca/locator/ to locate other disposal locations where they can drop off their used batteries for recycling.
The Call2Recycle® program is North America’s largest most reliable battery recycling program. This program offers free, easy, convenient disposal alternatives for single use batteries. They are the premier, no-cost used battery and cellphone collection program with a network of more than 30,000 collection sites offered throughout North America. Since 1996, the Call2Recycle® program has diverted more than 45million kg of batteries from the solid waste stream.

Consumers can locate a Call2Recycle Drop-Off Location in their area by visiting www.call2recycle.ca/locator/ You can also contact 1-877-2-RECYCLE to locate a public drop off location that accepts single use batteries free of charge.
