The 2017 Trashformer Team tracked and compiled data on the following information:

• Number of garbage bags filled with litter and debris.
• The weight of litter and debris removed from municipal streets and public areas.

The team compiled data on the following litter items:  

Refundables 
Fast food packaging
Hot drink cups
Cold drink cups
Cigarette packages
Cigarette Butts

Sharps (needles)

Month of May & June

Week 1 of Trashformer Program:  May 22, 2017 to May 26, 2017

68 bags of litter and debris were filled at a weight of 540 kgs or 0.54 tonnes.

The Trashformers removed:

  97           Refundable items
578           Fast food wrappers
615           Hot drink cups
400           Cold drink cups
122           Cigarette packages
118           Cigarette butts
100           Sharps (needles)

Some of the odd or unusual items the removed from their cleanup areas included:

1 Bicycle

Children's dolls
2 televisions
1 radio 

Week 2 of Trashformer Program:  May 29, 2017 to June 2, 2017

91 bags of litter and debris were filled at a weight of 530 kg or 0.53 tonnes.

The Trashformers removed:

Week 3 of Trashformer Program:  June 5, 2017 to June 9, 2017

134 garbage bags were filled with litter and debris at a weight of 730 kg or 0.73 tonnes.

The Trashformers removed:

Week 4 of Trashformer Program:  June 12, 2017 to June 16, 2017

93 garbage bags were filled with litter and debris at a weight of 580 kg or 0.58 tonnes.

The Trashformers removed:

105 garbage bags were filled with litter and debris at a weight of 630 kg or 0.63 tonnes.

The Trashformers removed:

536 Cigarette butts
5 Sharps (needles)

Week 6 of Trashformer Program:  June 26, 2017 to June 30, 2017

90 garbage bags were filled with litter and debris at a weight of 420 kg or 0.42 tonnes.

The Trashformers removed:
