2016 Trashformer Progress

The 2016 Trashformer Team:  Program Results 

The Trashformers tracked the following information:

• Number of garbage bags filled with litter and debris.
• The weight of the litter and debris removed from community streets and public areas.

The team compiled data on the following litter items:

• Refundable items
• Fast food wrappers
• Hot drink cups
• Cold drink cups
• Cigarette packages
• Cigarette butts
• Sharps (needles)

The 2016 Trashformer team began transforming CBRM Streets and Public Areas on Monday, May 30, 2016 and continued their efforts Monday to Friday until Friday, August 19, 2019. 

2016 Trashformer Program Progress

During the 2016 Trashformer Program, the Trashformers filled approximately 756 bags with litter and debris.  The weight of the litter accumalated during the 2016 program was 5,925 kg or 5.93 tonnes.

The Trashformers picked up and removed:

8,505           Fast food wrappers

9,762           Hot drink cups

1,393           Cold drink cups

2,440           Cigarette packages

3,031           Cigarette butts

29                Sharps (needles)
