CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY STUDENT PROGRAM – SUMMER 2018

The CBRM will be selecting students for summer 2018 programs by lottery on Thursday June 7th, 2018. The draw will take place at exactly 5:00 pm. Late submissions will NOT be accepted.

For students who wish to be considered for employment, the following procedure will be followed:

ELIGIBILITY:
1. The Municipality is committed to providing students with meaningful employment opportunities.
Students eligible for summer employment must:
• Be graduating from grade 12 and pursuing post secondary education; or
• Be returning to full time post secondary education during 2018;
• Be willing to work where the job requires, which may not always be in the students home community;
• Not previously employed through the student lottery with CBRM;
• For students assigned to the Recreation Department, must consent to the carrying out of a Search of the Child Abuse Register and a police check by CBRM.


2. Ensure that you know the name of your Councillor and your District Number. This must be correct on your application. If you do not know who your Councillor is go to the following website: http://cbrm.ns.ca/who-is-my-councillor.htmlhttp://cbrm.ns.ca/who-is-my-councillor.html . You will have to provide your civic address in order to use this tool.

 

PROCEDURE:

1. Collect an application from the CBRM Citizen Service Centre location in Sydney. Applications will also be in the Recreation Department of the CBRM, and are available for download on the CBRM website: http://cbrm.ns.ca/jobs.html


2. Attend the lottery on Thursday, June7th at the location indicated below.
Students or student representatives must personally deposit their application in the draw.
