Cape Breton Regional Municipality to welcome HMCS Glace Bay

SYDNEY, NS - HMCS Glace Bay will visit the port of Sydney on June 14-17. The public will have several opportunities to tour the ship and members of the crew will be visiting local charities to lend assistance.

HMCS Glace Bay is scheduled to arrive dockside at 6 pm on Friday, June 14. Mayor Cecil Clarke says members of the public are welcome and encouraged to greet the ship as it arrives.

Mayor Clarke and members of Council will also be on hand at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion to greet the officers and crew.

 

"It's a pleasure and an honour to host the crew of HMCS Glace Bay. Their stellar record of service to our country makes our community proud," said Mayor Clarke. "We welcome Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Commander Kray Robichaud and Executive Officer, Lieutenant (Navy) Emily Lambert as well as the crew and officers."

The public are invited to tour the ship on Saturday, June 15, from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm to 9 pm or on Father's Day, Sunday, June 16, from 1 pm to 4 pm and 6pm to 9 pm.
