New dates set for Dominion and Glace Bay budget consultation meetings

Public meetings rescheduled for March 5 and 7
SYDNEY, NS - New dates are set for two budget consultation meetings in Dominion and Glace Bay that had been cancelled due to weather.
The District 10 budget consultation meeting is rescheduled for Tuesday, March 5 at 6:30 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion on Neville Street in Dominion.
The District 9 budget consultation meeting is rescheduled for Thursday, March 7 at 6:30 pm at the Glace Bay Fire Hall.
All residents of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality are encouraged to attend a meeting in their own district to participate in the planning and priority-setting for the region's $137 million budget. The dates of other upcoming meetings are:
Sunday, March 3 – District 5: Civic Centre Community Room, Sydney, at 2:00 pm
Sunday, March 3 – District 12: Royal Canadian Legion Branch 128, Whitney Pier, at 7:00 pm
Mayor Cecil Clarke and each district's councillor attend the meetings along with CBRM staff including Interim CAO Marie Walsh.
This is the region's first-ever public budget consultation tour. Along with the 12 public meetings, there will be a two-day stakeholder session in council chambers, budget workshops with CBRM staff and councillors and a consultation with CBRM employees about how they can strengthen their departments and find efficiencies.
