CBRM seeks residents’ feedback in online survey

SYDNEY, NS - The municipality is seeking feedback and guidance from residents in advance of the next budget. Surveys are now available online at the CBRM website www.cbrm.ns.ca

The surveys were part of the 12 budget consultations held around the municipality last month. They are now available online for residents who were unable to attend the public meetings.

“We use the surveys to better understand the priorities of residents when it comes to decisions around the municipality’s $143 million budget,” said Mayor Cecil Clarke. “The survey only takes about 10 minutes to complete and the information we receive helps a great deal in guiding decision-making.”

The survey contains 8 questions and includes five “information only” pages that contain information presented at the budget consultation meetings.

Residents who would prefer to fill out a paper survey can have one mailed to them by calling 902-563-5777. No identifying information is collected in the survey so responses are anonymous.

The survey will be available online until the end of January, 2016. Budget deliberations conclude in March.

Last year over 1,100 surveys were completed at budget meetings, online and in telephone surveys.
