Notice to CBRM Water Utility Customers in Sydney Mines area
Please be advised - CBRM Water Utility customers in the Sydney Mines area:
Due to flushing associated with the commissioning of the new waterline along Tobin Road, customers may experience discoloured water in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 26, 2017. The CBRM Water Utility appreciates your patience as this work is completed.

One outbound lane closure on section of Kings Road in Sydney tomorrow, Friday, Sept 22
September 21, 2017
One outbound lane on Kings Road, between Logue Drive and Weidner Drive in Sydney, will be closed tomorrow, Friday, September 22nd due to asphalt repairs.
Work will begin at 7 a.m., expected to finish up by mid afternoon. Through traffic will still be permitted in one outbound lane; traffic control will be in place.
Detour on Main Street, Glace Bay on Friday, Sept 22
September 21, 2017
Beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, September 22, a section of Main Street, Glace Bay will be closed to traffic due to installation of water and sewer services to a new home. Both lanes of Main Street from Bridgeport school through to Dodd Street will be closed.
There will be a detour around the construction site via Station Street, Connaught Ave., and MacIntyre Lane. Appropriate signage will be in place.
The closure is expected to remain until 3pm.
Water Disruption - Glace Bay Area
September 20, 2017
CBRM Water customers in the Dominion Street, Highland Street through to Grove Street and Steele’s Hill areas of Glace Bay are to be advised that due to a water main break they may experience low or no water pressure and or discolored water.
Repairs are currently underway.
Transit route changes improve service for riders
September 7, 2017
New and improved transit routes are now in effect throughout the municipality.
These changes are part of the transit pilot project approved by CBRM Council. The routes will be evaluated over the coming months.
The changes include new routes, extended service into the evening and a new express service to and from the Northside.
Water service disruption in New Waterford expanded
New Waterford, Nova Scotia - Please be advised that a planned water main connection at the intersection of Ellsworth Avenue and Mahon Street in New Waterford was scheduled for today, August 30, 2017. Notices were distributed to residents in the immediate area informing them of pending disruption of their water service.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the area affected by the water disruption has expanded to include lower Mahon Street, Birch Street, Bay Street, John Street, Smith Street and Thomas Avenue, and possible surrounding area.
Service is currently being restored, expected to be resolved this evening.
Regent Street, North Sydney, Traffic Advisory
August 24, 2017
NORTH SYDNEY, NS - Beginning Monday, August 28 at 7:00 am, Regent Street in North Sydney will be closed to through traffic from Pierce Street to Clifford Street, while work is completed on the installation of a new culvert.
Appropriate signage will be in place for the duration of the disruption. Homeowners in the affected area will be allowed access at all times.
The disruption is expected to be in place for four weeks.
George Street Traffic Advisory Update
August 17th, 2017
SYDNEY, NS - Water main upgrades continue on George Street in Sydney through next week.
Please note the following construction schedule:
Friday, Aug. 18:
Motorists can expect traffic disruptions beginning at 7am - 5:30pm on Friday, Aug. 18. Morning inbound traffic will be reduced to one lane on George Street between Townsend Street and Carquest Auto Parts.
During the afternoon, inbound traffic will experience a lane closure on George Street from Glenwood Street to Townsend Street and traffic will be detoured through Glenwood Street.
Monday, Aug. 21 – Friday, Aug. 25:
Next week, Monday to Friday (Aug 21st to 25th), traffic disruptions can be expected on George Street in Sydney between Townsend Street and Glenwood Street from 7am - 5:30pm. All inbound traffic will be detoured through Glenwood Street. Outbound traffic will be detoured through Townsend Street.
George and Townsend St. intersection detour continues Tuesday

SYDNEY, NS - George and Townsend Street in Sydney will continue to have traffic detoured on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.
Beginning at 7:00 a.m., George Street (from Brookland to Falmouth Street) and Townsend Street (from Bentinck to Douglas Street) in Sydney will be closed to through traffic as intersection is being repaved following watermain upgrades. Detour signage and traffic personnel will be in place for the duration of the closure.
