Section of Pond Road in Florence closed to traffic today

Due to emergency waterline repairs, a section of Pond Road, near LeBlanc Road in Florence will be closed to traffic today, September 29, 2017. Estimated that the section will remain closed for the remainder of the day.  

Traffic signage will be in place. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes.

Construction on Esplanade in Sydney starting September 28

As part of Tender T38-2017, a waterline replacement and asphalt resurfacing will be taking place on the Esplanade in Sydney, between Desbarres Street and Dorchester Street, and is estimated to take approximately 10 weeks to complete. 

The first phase of this project, between Desbarres Street and Amelia Street will begin Thursday, September 28th, 2017.

Line painting will be taking place on Kings Rd in Sydney

Construction Advisory: Line painting will be taking place on Kings Rd between Byng Ave and Weidner Drive in Sydney beginning tomorrow, Tuesday September 26, 2017 at 7am.

One outbound lane closure on section of Kings Road in Sydney tomorrow, Friday, Sept 22

September 21, 2017 

One outbound lane on Kings Road, between Logue Drive and Weidner Drive in Sydney, will be closed tomorrow, Friday, September 22nd due to asphalt repairs.  

Work will begin at 7 a.m., expected to finish up by mid afternoon. Through traffic will still be permitted in one outbound lane; traffic control will be in place.

Detour on Main Street, Glace Bay on Friday, Sept 22

September 21, 2017 

Beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday, September 22, a section of Main Street, Glace Bay will be closed to traffic due to installation of water and sewer services to a new home. Both lanes of Main Street from Bridgeport school through to Dodd Street will be closed.

There will be a detour around the construction site via Station Street, Connaught Ave., and MacIntyre Lane. Appropriate signage will be in place. 

The closure is expected to remain until 3pm.

Water Disruption - Glace Bay Area

September 20, 2017 

CBRM Water customers in the Dominion Street, Highland Street through to Grove Street and Steele’s Hill areas of Glace Bay are to be advised that due to a water main break they may experience low or no water pressure and or discolored water.

Transit route changes improve service for riders

September 7, 2017

New and improved transit routes are now in effect throughout the municipality.

These changes are part of the transit pilot project approved by CBRM Council. The routes will be evaluated over the coming months.

The changes include new routes, extended service into the evening and a new express service to and from the Northside.

Water service disruption in New Waterford expanded

New Waterford, Nova Scotia - Please be advised that a planned water main connection at the intersection of Ellsworth Avenue and Mahon Street in New Waterford was scheduled for today, August 30, 2017.  Notices were distributed to residents in the immediate area informing them of pending disruption of their water service. 

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the area affected by the water disruption has expanded to include lower Mahon Street, Birch Street, Bay Street, John Street, Smith Street and Thomas Avenue, and possible surrounding area. 

Service is currently being restored, expected to be resolved this evening.
