Information for voters

Every four years, the CBRM holds a general election for Regional Council and the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial’s (CSAP) CBRM- area school board members.

The next Municipal and Conseil scolaire acadien provincial Election is scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2024.

The upcoming general election will allow eligible residents to vote for their choice of:

Mayor
Councillor within their district (12 total); and
Conseil scolaire acadien provincial member (if eligible).

Who does what?

While municipal and school board elections across Nova Scotia are governed by the Government of Nova Scotia, the CBRM’s elections are managed (administered) by the Office of the Municipal Clerk.

Voting in municipal elections is quick, convenient and secure. It’s an easy and powerful way to have your voice heard where it matters most.

Voter's list

Eligible voters in the CBRM are encouraged to verify if they are on the elector's list for the 2024 Municipal & CSAP elections.

The elector's list will be used to send out voter information letters in October, which will provide residents with important information about how and where to voter in the 2024 Municipal & CSAP Elections this fall.

Revisions to the list

Revisions are now being made for additions and corrections to the list. Not on the list?

The list of electors is provided by Elections Nova Scotia but all residents - particularly those who have recently moved within the municipality or have recently turned 18 - should verify if their information is accurate.
