Makin’ Waves presented by Sydney Credit Union is excited to bring you performances by JRDN with Nicole Ariana on July 16th at 6:00 PM.
JRDN
JRDN first emerged on the national stage with his 2010 debut album IAMJRDN, with Gold-certified hits “U Can Have It All” and “Like Magic” reaching #1 on the Much and MuchMore Music video charts. Nova Scotia-born and raised, JRDN was at the forefront of Canada’s R&B scene and recognized with awards and nominations from SOCAN and the Junos for his efforts.
Now, in 2026, JRDN is entering a new chapter. With an eye towards evolution and authenticity, JRDN is commanding the stage alongside Classified, as frontman of new Halifax-based soul collective Lane Hall, and as a revered solo artist while staying rooted in the heartfelt storytelling that first captured audiences across Canada.
NICOLE ARIANA
From her roots in Sydney, Cape Breton, Nicole Ariana has taken to the global stage with both her songwriting and live performance. 2022’s Music Nova Scotia SOCAN Songwriter of the Year and songwriter on Russ’ Billboard #1 and Gold-certified album Shake the Snow Globe, Nicole excels in creating melodic hooks and evocative lyrics that captivate the hearts and minds of the listener.
Earning acclaim for her debut album Crybaby, Nicole is readying for new music in 2026 with the release of her new single Return to Sender. Where Crybaby dealt with heartbreak and healing from romantic wounds, this new track digs into something harder to shake: the emotional baggage carried from childhood, the kind people learn to hide behind smiles and drinks, pretending everything’s fine when it’s not.
