Upcoming summer events will bring several road closures and transit detours this week. Please review the information below.
July 14 (New Waterford)
- Road closure: All of Plummer Ave from 8th St to St. Anne St will be closed.
- Transit detour: Route 9 from 4pm to 10pm via King St, Wilson, and Heelon.
July 15 (Glace Bay)
- Road closure: Commercial St in Glace Bay will be closed from Marconi St to York St.
- Transit detour: Routes 1, 2, and 3/4 will arrive and depart from Blair’s Used Furniture on Union Street from 1pm to 10pm.
July 16 (New Waterford)
- Road closure: Plummer Ave from 8th St to St. Anne St will be closed from 7am to 11pm.
- Transit detour: Route 9 detours all day via King St, Wilson, and Heelon.
July 16 (Glace Bay)
- Road closure: Dawe Ave will be closed from Quarry Rd to Douglas Ave.
- Transit detour: Routes 1, 2, and 3/4 will use Blair’s Used Furniture from 2pm to 10pm.
July 18 (New Waterford)
- Road closure: All of Plummer Ave between Hudson St and St. Anne St will be closed from 1pm to 8pm.
- Transit detour: Route 9 from 1pm to 8pm via Plummer Ave, Smith, Wilson, and Heelon.
July 19 (New Waterford)
- Road closure: Parade in New Waterford. Roads along the parade route may be closed to allow participants through safely.
- Parade route: Leaving Grenfield, right onto Emerald St, left down King St, left onto Plummer Ave, right onto Heelen St, left onto Ellsworth Ave, ending at Colliery Lands Park.
July 19 (Glace Bay)
- Road closure: Birkley St in Glace Bay will be closed to local traffic only from South St to Museum St.
