A major new event is coming to Cape Breton Island this fall as the Cape Breton Pro Rodeo takes place at Centre 200 from September 24–27, 2026. The four‑day festival will bring professional rodeo competition, live concerts, and family‑friendly programming to Sydney.
Elite rodeo athletes from across North America will compete in fan‑favourite events, including bull riding, bronc riding, barrel racing, and more. The festival atmosphere will extend throughout Centre 200 with live concert performances, interactive fan experiences, western‑themed vendors, food and beverage offerings, and activities for all ages.
The entertainment lineup for the weekend includes performances by Sam Roberts, Adam Baldwin, Mary Frances (of the MacMaster & Leahy Family), High Valley, Doc Walker, and Alan Doyle.
“This is a brand‑new experience for our municipality, and I think people are really going to enjoy it,” said Cecil Clarke, Mayor of Cape Breton Regional Municipality. “With four days of rodeo action and a full lineup of great music, it’s going to be a good time for families, visitors, and anyone looking for something different to enjoy in Sydney. We’re excited to welcome this event to Centre 200 and see the community come out to experience it.”
The Cape Breton Pro Rodeo is expected to attract visitors from across Atlantic Canada and beyond, contributing to increased tourism during the shoulder season and supporting CBRM’s ongoing efforts to grow major event capacity.
