Notice: Transit Route 1 – Wednesday, September 16, 2026
Due to ongoing work on Phalen Road, Transit Route 1 will be detoured.
Buses travelling toward Glace Bay will follow Main Street to King Edward Street, turn left onto Reserve Street and continue to Sobeys, where they will turn around and return downtown via Reserve Street.
Route 1 will follow the same detour in reverse when travelling toward Sydney.
Passengers requiring service on Phalen Road or in the area between Phalen Road and Sobeys can use Route 2, which will continue to operate without a detour.
Work is expected to be completed at 7 p.m.

Phalen Road will be closed to through traffic between Reserve Street and Maplewood Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for emergency sewer repairs in the area.
Access will be restricted to local traffic only. CB Transit service will not be impacted.
All other traffic will be detoured via Mitchell Avenue and Nolan’s Lane.
Please use caution when travelling through the area and follow traffic controls and signage.
