Leaf and Yard Waste Drop-off Sites: Seasonal Schedule
2024 Schedule for the Weekly Seasonal Leaf and Yard Drop-Off Sites: Open the Week of May 12.
The weekly seasonal leaf and yard drop-off sites open one day a week between mid-May and mid-November in North Sydney, Glace Bay and New Waterford will open for the season the Week of May 12. 2024 Seasonal Leaf and Yard Drop-Off Site Schedule: Opening Schedule
The North Sydney leaf and yard drop-off site on Ferris Street (off King Street) in North Sydney is open 1pm to 6pm each Thursday. The site will open for the season on Thursday, May 16.
The Glace Bay leaf and yard drop-off site located at the Public Works Yard on West Avenue in Glace Bay is open 9am to 3pm each Saturday. The site will open for the season on Saturday, May 18.
The New Waterford leaf and yard drop-off site located at the Public Works Yard on Ling Street in New Waterford is open 9am to 3pm each Saturday. The site will open for the season on Saturday, May 18.
The Leaf and Yard Waste Drop-Off Site located at the Waste Management Facility on SPAR Road is open year round.
SYDNEY Leaf and Yard Waste Drop-Off Site
Depot Location: Waste Management Facility located on SPAR Road
Days of Operation: Tuesday to Saturday (year round)
Hours of Operation: 8am to 4pm
Leaf and Yard Waste ACCEPTED at the WEEKLY drop-off sites include:
- Grass clippings and leaves
- Plant and garden waste
- Brush and hedge clippings
- Tree branches and tree limbs less that 1 inch in diameter*
* Tree branches and tree limbs larger than 1 inch in diameter and tree stumps must be brought to the leaf and yard waste drop-off site located at the Waste Management Facility.
** Sods should be taken to the leaf and yard waste drop-off site located at the Waste Management Facility.
