Waste Management Facility - Waste Disposal Tipping Fee Schedule 1

Effective October 1, 2005

PRODUCT TIPPING FEE MATERIALS COMMENTS
Residual Mixed Waste ICI Sector: $ 80.00 a tonne over 80 kg. Couches, mattresses, Styrofoam, plastic piping, household garbage, carpeting, flooring, etc. Residual Mixed Waste - RMW (Garbage) tip fee will be charged to the ICI sector (Institutional, Commercial & Industrial sector) only.  Quantities of RMW 80 kg or less per daily visit will not be charged.
Residential Sector: No Charge
C&D Unsorted Construction and Demolition Material ICI Sector:  $ 80.00 a tonne over 80 kg. Wood waste, shingles, tar paper, ceramic tile, cabinets, aluminum doors, shelving, all mixed together. ICI C&D unsorted tip fee will be charged to the ICI (Institutional, Commercial & Industrial sector) only.  Quantities of RMW 80 kg or less per daily visit will not be charged.
Residential Sector:  No Charge
C&D Sorted Construction & Demolition Material

ICI Sector: 

$ 40.00 a tonne over 80 kg.  

Metals brought in separately.

Clean wood waste brought in separately. Other  (C&D materials) brought in separately. Material may come in one vehicle but, must be sorted in vehicle to allow customer to go to the individual piles (not bins).

Construction and Demolition (C&D) tip fee will be charged to the ICI (Institutional, Commercial & Industrial sector) only.  Quantities of RMW 80 kg or less per daily visit will not be charged.
Residential Sector: No Charge
Scrap Metal

ICI Sector: 

$ 30.00 a tonne over 80 kg

Shelving, aluminium shingles/siding, wiring, staging, doors, window frames, stoves, dishwashers, hot water tanks, etc. Scrap metal tip fee will be charged to the ICI (Institutional, Commercial & Industrial sector) only. Quantities of scrap metal waste 80 kg or less per daily visit will not be charged.
Residential Sector:  No Charge
Organics

ICI Sector: 

$ 50.00 a tonne

Food waste, table scraps, soiled napkins, paper plates, etc. Organics tip fee will be charged to the ICI (Institutional, Commercial & Industrial sector) only.
Residential Sector:  No Charge
Organics (Contaminated)

ICI Sector: 

$ 75.00 a tonne

Organics contaminated with plastics, metals, aluminium, etc. Organics tip fee will be charged to the ICI (Institutional, Commercial & Industrial sector) only.
Residential Sector:  No Charge
Freon Items ICI Sector:  $ 10.00 an item Refridgerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, etc. Freon tip fee will be charged per item disposed.
 Residential Sector: No Charge
Asbestos

ICI Sector Friable Asbestos:

$ 30.00/regulation bag.  Minimum charge = $ 500.00

  Prior notice and approval is required before material arrival.  Phone the Waste Management Facility at (902) 567-1337.

Non-friable Asbestos: 

$ 80.00 a tonne

Residential Sector:  No Charge
Safe Sharps Only accepted from Non Profit Organizations ALL Safe Sharps must be contained inside Safe Sharps Containers. Safe Sharps containers are accepted the third Wednesday of each month.
 
Leaf and Yard Waste ICI Sector:  No Charge Leaves, grass clippings, twigs, brush, etc. No tip fee will be charged for leaf and yard waste.
Residential Sector:  No Charge
Contaminated Soil ICI Sector:  $ 30.00 a tonne Contaminated Soil Contaminated soil tip fee will be charged to the ICI (Institutional, Commercial & Industrial sectors) only.
Residential Sector:  No Charge
Weights:  Normally the net weight to be charged will be the weight on the inbound scale less the weight on the outbound scale.  Should the outbound scale not be working, the weight to be charged will be the weight upon entering the facility less the recorded tar weight of the vehicle.  Should both scales be inoperative, the tip fee charges will be on a per load basis for which fees apply as follows:  (1/2 ton truck or small trailer = $ 25.00; Single Axel = $ 50.00; Tandem Truck = $ 75.00; Tractor Trailer = $ 100.00).  This per load fee does not apply to biomedical waste or asbestos waste where the charge will remain as per the waste manifest weight.
